Your medals

Every crafter has a shoebox of ribbons somewhere. This is the one you don’t have to dust. Join and start yours

Medals are how Marts & Crafts says thank you for the things that make the corner better: showing up at fairs, keeping the catalog honest, putting your work out where the neighbors can see it, and bringing a friend along. Each one comes in five metals, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond, and each metal is a bigger number of the same thing. Earn a medal and it hangs on your board for good.

Points and rank

Everything you do earns points, and your points set your rank: Silver at 500, Gold at 1,500, Platinum at 4,000, Diamond at 10,000. Your rank is the ring around your picture, everywhere it appears, and each one comes with a thank-you:

  • Silver — 150 credits, and boosts cost 5% less from here on.
  • Gold — 350 credits, boosts 10% off, and you go ahead of the rest in the boosted strip.
  • Platinum — 800 credits, boosts 15% off, the front spot bookable eight weeks ahead, “Platinum maker” on your business card, and first look at new features.
  • Diamond — 2,000 credits, boosts 20% off, a free front-spot week every year, and a permanent place in the Diamond makers row on the front page.

Crafters Club members get bigger bonuses (half again in your first year, double from your second), earn double points on everything they do in the app, and the Club month itself is worth more every year you stay. Stay a year and there are 900 credits and the Loyal medal waiting; two years, a free month on top.

What counts

Verified by other people, or by real weeks, or by real money: those are the things that count most, and each hangs a medal on your board.

  • A fair you add that one other member confirms: 20 points, and Scout on your board.
  • Four weeks in a row of showing up: 40, and Regular.
  • A friend who joins through your link and takes a plan: 150, and Connector.
  • Credits spent on boosts or the front spot: 1 point for every 10, and Boosted.
  • Every month of the Club: 100 in your first year, 150 in your second, 200 after that, and Loyal at each anniversary.

The everyday things count too, a little at a time: a creation published (10), a fair attended (10), a piece marked Sold (5), a like received (2), a like given (1). Each of these has a ceiling, so the board rewards a season of work, not an afternoon of tapping.

What doesn’t

Scans of your card. Card carrier counts the phones that scan you, and it is a fine medal, but a phone can scan itself, so scans earn a medal and no points. Likewise the journal is yours and stays out of all of this.
